We warmly welcome you to the 2026–2027 Family Faith Formation Program.
Here at St. Gerard Majella Church, we lovingly invite parents to take an active and meaningful role in the faith formation of their children. This year marks your second year of preparation for the Sacraments of Confirmation or — a sacred and important step in your family’s journey of faith.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments of the Church and completes the grace of Baptism. In Confirmation, the baptized person receives a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit and is strengthened to live as a faithful witness of Jesus Christ.
Through this sacrament, the Holy Spirit comes upon us just as He came upon the Apostles at Pentecost, filling them with courage, wisdom, and faith.
Scripture tells us:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses.”
(Acts 1:8)
Confirmation is not simply a ceremony of becoming older or graduating from religious education. It is a sacred encounter with God in which the Holy Spirit seals the soul with His gifts and calls the Christian to deeper discipleship.
We look forward to welcoming you and sharing more during our orientation.
The orientation meeting will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in the Parish Hall at 10:30am, followed by Holy Mass at 12:00pm.
The first day of class is October 11, 2026. The Family will attend Mass at 9:00am and class at 10:15am.
